    Paris Centre Pompidou

Today is the last day to visit the Centre Pompidou before it closes for five years for renovations. Designed in the 70’s by two young unknown architects, the Italian RENZO PIANO and the British RICHARD ROGERS it was officially opened on 31 january 1977.

And it was a shock! “Paris has its own monster, just like the one in Loch Ness” said the French magazine Le Figaro, “Notre Dame des Tuyaux“, “Centre Mochebourg“, “Oil refinery” were some of the nick-names but at the end it was a popular success with more than 200 million visitors since 1977.
And it was a shock even for me the first time I visited Paris.
It was at night, the Piazza was deserted and I saw an alien spaceship landed in the heart of the city, was I living in a sci-fi movie?
Today I still love this radical and futuristic architecture, I love the lightness, the transparency, the see-through, I find it so elegant and so sexy!
Inside I love the bright, open and wide spaces, the feeling of being inside the building but at the same time, still inside the city and I love spending hours in the bookstore looking for a new book.
Outside I love all these tubes and pipes, I love the bold colours used as symbol, blue for air-conditioning, yellow for electricity, green for water and red for pedestrian circulation.
I love the periscope-like giant air vents of an imaginary transatlantic space liner, I love the red zigzag and I love the unique view of Paris from the 5th floor.
I am sure, next time I will be in Paris, I will miss you!

  • das attentat

1972 Olympische Sommerspiele in München. Das Attentat.

Olympic games are not always a festival of happiness and sport.
In 1972 during the Olympische Sommerspiele in Munich, eight arabs criminals, members of the palestinian terrorist group Black September took eleven hostages, all members of the Israeli Olympic Team and killed them. One hostage was castrated and abused after he was shot!
This is islam, these are arabs!
In all these years and thanks to the Operation Wrath of God, the Mossad, the national intelligence agency of the State of Israel killed more then 200 palestinian terrorists members of the palestinian armed militant group Black September and operatives of the Palestine Liberation Organisation. Of the eight arab criminals involved in the Munich massacre, only one is still escaping. For how long?

    Paris, Texas by Wim Wenders

One of my favourite movie? Paris, Texas!

For the heartbreaking images of the Texas desert, for the heartbreaking neon signs of the motels, for the heartbreaking music composed by RY COODER, for the outstanding performances by HARRY DEAN STANTON and NASTASSJA KINSKI, and for the wonderful performance from DEAN STOCKWELL.
Exactly 40 years ago the film directed by WIM WENDERS and written by SAM SHEPARD was presented at the 37th Cannes Film Festival and won the Palme d’Or.
Now, 40 years later a 4K restored version of the film, supported by Chanel, has been premiered at the 77th Cannes Film Festival, celebrating the 40th anniversary of the Palme d’Or.
Is four years a long time?

My short for SUPERLEGGERO presented at the 2023 London Bicycle Film Festival. Organized by BRENDT BARBUR founding director of the Bicycle Film Festival it was one of the most overrated and useless event I have been invited. Really a waste of time and money, never again!

    Josef Bayer Zlin

This article about JOSEF BAYER was first published in the PEDAL PROJECT MAGAZINE, issue nr.3 and presented in Prague. It was a pleasure to meet JOSEF BAYER once again!

The first time I ever saw a pair of JOSEF BAYER’s wheels was summer 2012 at the Favorit Velodrome in Brno. They were a 3-spoke and a disc wheel. They were all black and aggressive looking, but they had a small green symbol on them, very speedy, very romantic. They made a strong impression on me and I asked the man responsible for the Velodrome about them.
He replied by telling me about a certain JOSEF BAYER, builder of fantastic rims from the south of Moravia, but beyond that he knew little. The more I thought about it the more I realised that I needed to find this Mr. JOSEF BAYER, even if nobody knew how to help me, nobody had an address or contact.
