    ANTONIO SANTAROMITA was one of the best gregario of the 20th century.
    Between 1986 and 1997 he rode in 10 editions of the Giro d’Italia, 4 editions of the Tour de France and 3 editions of the Vuelta. In 1987 he finished 8th at the Coor’s classic and in 1989 he won the Giro del Trentino. He was the best gregario for teams like Ariostea, Magniflex, Chateau d’Ax, Ariostea, ZG Mobili, Gewiss and MG Maglificio. Yesterday I went to Lugano to pay him a visit!
