This was my STARSHIP! No name was more appropriate to describe this extraordinary project. Introduced in 1999 by COLUMBUS this aluminium frame was the lightest and toughest frame I ever used. Super-light on the climbs and super-rigid on the descents, the STARSHIP was the highest level of aluminium innovation and at the same time, with the detail to use at the top of the seat tube the ALTER stem, the highest level of good Italian creative perversion. Shot during a winter training in Castagneto Carducci, spring 1999.
